Daniel AiroldiDipWSET

Daniel Airoldi DipWSET, the founder of this dynamic company, was born in Nérac in the South West of France, the centre of the Armagnac region. During the early days the family moved to the outskirts of Bordeaux to the town of Blaye. A few years later they moved to Pessac, one of the most famous suburbs of Bordeaux, known for the appellation of Pessac-Léognan and Château Haut-Brion. The Airoldi Family has always been connected to wines, as in every generation, a family member has worked in the industry in various wine-making regions.

Daniel’s first choice of career was cooking and after 15 years following this career in various countries including Australia and owning a restaurant for 3 years, it was obvious that his main interest was to renew his strong ties to wine. So the family moved back to France near Bergerac. Daniel then studied at the “Ecole du Vin de Paris” whilst working for a negociant family based in the south west, and eventually moved to Paris to manage one of their new cellars.

How it all started

With the experience gained in France by representing Domains and Châteaux unavailable in Australia, Daniel quickly identified a need to add more variety to what was already available on the Australian market and bring these wines here. Airoldi Fine Wines blends an extensive knowledge of the hospitality industry in Australia and overseas with the world’s wine industry. Daniel furthered his studies at the Sydney Wine Academy and graduated from the WSET Level 4 Diploma and has now his heart set on the industry pinnacle by studying for the Master of Wine with the Institute of Master of Wine.

With many contacts in the area, Airoldi Fine Wines thrives in sourcing the best Châteaux of Bordeaux from its most trusted courtiers and winemakers. They also love to bring in wines from the tiny estates of the south of France, the up and coming Burgundy Domains, all whilst keeping an emphasis on small producers who respect the vines and their respective terroirs. Airoldi Fine Wines is taking the same thorough approach and rigorous selection for its wines from Australia and the rest of the world.



CREDENTIALS


Daniel Studied at the “Ecole du Vin de Paris” whilst working for a negociant family based in the south west, and eventually moved to Paris to manage one of their new cellars.
