The L’Atelier range is the natural extension of Benjamin Laroche’s offerings of Burgundian cuvées now expanding to the rest of the region and its famous red and white wines.
Artisan winemakers craft each cuvée of l’Atelier following state-of-the-art rules. From plot selection to uncompromising winemaking, they work thoroughly all year round to age wines representing the best of their terroirs.
L’Atelier expresses this passion for excellence. It combines in-depth vineyard knowledge and expertise with the heritage of the ancestral history of Burgundy.
The name Chorey is derived from the Latin canus, meaning “chariot”. The village is situated on the great Roman road from Autun to Besançon where many horses and two- and four-wheeled carts travelled in the twenties BC.
Notes and Reviews
This supple and rather light Pinot Noir from Côte de Beaune is moderately tannic but rich in character. Vivid in colour, it is a deep purple with violet hints. In the nose are found little red berries (raspberries and cherry liquor) but also blackberries enhanced by liquorice and underwood notes.
While ageing, the wine evolves into strawberry jam and gingerbread but also animal and leather notes. Well structured, its tannins are present but nevertheless elegant. Well rounded despite a full body with a nice and fruity lingering finish.
