The Mas d’Espanet estate is located between Uzes and Sommieres in the Languedoc, in a massif of scrubland calles Les Lens.
Following in the footsteps of a family tradition of winemakers, Denys set up Mas d’Espanet in 1980. The vineyard had been abandoned and the first task was to save the old varieties of red Languedoc grapes and to plant new white vines chosen on the basis of the soil type and the type of wines we wanted to make.
In 1999 the winery building was restored with the former barn transformed into a barrel cellar.
Notes and Reviews
Château Tasting
The old vines of Grenache Noir and Carignan of the estate offer beautiful and velvety flavours of black fruits that conquer the palate. This soft and delicate wine has a minty edge, giving it freshness and delicacy. A red wine accessible to all. Cherry red in colour. A nose of fruit of the forest and menthol. On the palate, the Grenache is flesh and supple.
